DX Cluster Window - Not all band specific spots shows up...

Beitrag von LB2EG »

Hello Ben,
I have been searching the documentation, but can not find an answer...

In the DX Cluster window, I have configured it to show me spots that I need on the HF band. But when I change to band specific view (RX option), I will find spots that does not show up in the general all band view.

In the enclosed screenshots, none of the spots showing worked but not confirmed entities on the 30 meter band, is visible in the all band view.

Is this a bug or a feature?

Hello Richard,

It is a powerful feature but many users do not care about it.

Make all check boxes for bands Black not Grey

Help:
If the check box is greyed:
A new band slot for this band will only be displayed if the entity is missed/unconfirmed on all checked bands in the selected mode.

Hello @ll

I write my question in this threat, cause I use similar DX Cluster Windows settings like Richard.
With this view I am no able to see spots on VHF e.g. E Sporadic, Aurora or Tropo. Is there a way to show this spots?

Like an watchlist entry: Watch/Call: *, Show: all, Bands: 144, Mode CSR, Color: ...

So it could be possible to monitor the last 6 DXCCs on HF and the Tropo openings on favorite VHF Bands.

Sorry Ben, if this is inplemented since xxx years and I dind't find it :D

Hallo Thomas,

Hallo Ben

Ich habe nicht ohne Grund: " if this is inplemented since xxx years and I dind't find it... " geschrieben.

Ben,
I hope i have read the user documentation carefully this time:

Using the "RX" option i DX Cluster window, makes the spot view to follow band AND mode.

A feature request would be to have a black and grey marking also for the "RX" option, where one option is to follow band AND mode, and the other option is to follow band and ANY mode.

What say?

Hello Richard,

I'm not convinced that this is a really needed feature.
You can quickly switch the mode of TRX and see the related spots.

Yes, I can. But it is convenient sometimes doing S&P DXing on one band, having a single view of CW/Pone/Digital cluster spots for that band without touching the radio ...

Anyway, I can live with your decision :)

You can change the mode in Ucxlog by hotkey without touching the radio.

I like to get a quick view of band/mode spots with 1 click to RX and to go back with a second click.
With the grey check box I would need always one more click also if I do not like the view for all modes.
And an explanation is needed about the meaning of "grey".

Ben,
you may get around that by giving the user an option to check any other mode when the RX-option is actually activated.

This could be done with both grey and black, as it is done today when the RX option is not activated.

Richard,

there are 2 possibilities to get a new feature in UcxLog:
- I like the feature
OR
- Several users ask for this feature and the feature will not disturb other users.

I think, more "gray" check buttons are not helpful, only confusing.
To vary the behavior of the "RX" check button needs additional settings, e.g. by a pop-up menu.

Hello Ben,
A year ago I requested a feature allowing me to display all modes on a single band in DX Cluster Window, clicking the "RX" button. At that time you were not convinced, as stated in your last reply in the thread (above).

I kindly repeat my request for this feature, and suggest that it can be enabled using a pop up choice a la the "RBN BPSK" now used on the mode buttons.

Hello Richard,

Please check Version 7.54 Beta 9, DX Cluster window:
New Pop-Up menu at "RX" check box: "Only RX Mode" / "All Modes"
(or use the small (?) beside modes).

At program start is always "Only RX mode" checked.
