DXCluster old spots

Beitrag von YO5LD »

Hello,

in cases when UCXLog is running in the background for long times, and a restart happens, really old spots are loaded into the DXCluster window, then disappearing, other spots loaded and so on.
After like 5 minutes, everything stabilizes and only new spots are appearing.

What could be the issue?

Thanks,
Dani

Hello Dani,

what exactly means "running in the background" and what is a long time?
What is a "restart"?

I keep my machine open 24/7 and UCXLog running 24/7, often for 4-5 days plus.

Restart being closing UCXLog and reopening it.

A screen recording here where I just closed and reopened UCXLog: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1fBhfm_ ... sp=sharing.

It can be seen that it starts up with 0/9000 spots, at the beginning some very old ones (6Y7ei was 13th to 24th March 2025) which are appearing then disappearing.

You must switch off the "Protocol File" in "Settings - Station - Other interfaces - DX Cluster".
Because the spots didn't contain a date information, you reload too much outdated spots.
If you run UcxLog for such a long time, this protocol is not needed and not useful.

That worked. Also removed the 166 MB file aswell..

Don't remember me activating it that, but it's fine.
Thanks for the help
