I have got a G4ZLP interface and it switches my ICOM7700 when using N1MM program. I wish to use UCXLOG for the CQWW contest but the software does not switch the ICOM7700.
Please would you explain how I can set UCXLOG to switch with the Icom when F1 , F2 etc is pressed.

Re: cw send
Hello ...
What do you mean with "switch" ?
- Key line for CW
or
- PTT line
or
- CAT interface for mode and frequency ?
Open "Settings - Station - Transceivers - TRX 1 - Key/PTT control": Choose "Ptt + Key line".
For "Port COM" number select the right number used by your interface.

Re: cw send
Hi
It is the PTT line. The transceiver will not go into transmit.
I do have full control of the Icom7700 through the program which means that changing frequency on the transceiver the frequency is displayed in the software.

Hi
I have set up the setting to key/ptt and now when I press F1, the transmitter goes into transmit but it does not send the information and there is no output power. Using the hand key there is output power.

Re: cw send
Hello,
is there a line between the G4ZLP interface and the KEY IN socket of the transceiver?
Which G4ZLP interface are you using?
I think you need the "Icom CI-V / CT17 / CAT Interface + CW via 3.5mm jack" but then you have to activate in Settings-Station-CAT the "Control PTT" because there is no physical PTT line (the interface needs DTR=HIGH for power).

Re: cw send
The kit is the G4ZLP kit which I built up. This kit workes very well with N1MM.
I do have a lead from the interface to the key input on the set, as the interface also uses this with N1MM
In the settings I have CAT incom TRCV=ON
I would like to use UCX as I have been using it for the cluster and as a station log. I think it is an excellent program.

Re: cw send
I checked again the G4ZLP website.
This interface uses the COM port RTS line for keying and the DTR line for supply of the interface.
But UcxLog uses the DTR line for keying.
I will look for a solution in UcxLog, pse qrx.

Hello Colyn,
Please try Version 6.65 Beta 4.

Re: cw send
Hi Ben Thank you for this I will try it. I contacted G4ZLP and he suggested that I send you the exact interface I am using, my mistake not informing excatly which interface I had. I bought the Kit " Kit Data Interface/FSK/AFSK/CW" as shown on his web site.
OK, now we know what we are talking about.
If I have this right now, you have the KIT form of the DATA interface and I think that DL7UCX’s comments are not referring to a data interface, I think that he may be referring to a CAT interface and if so then you and him have your wires crossed.
To use UCXlog I suspect you will need a cat interface but you should forward these emails to him so that he will know what interface you have.
Would you think it woulb be better if I just went and bought the MIcrokeyerII?

Re: cw send
This kit should work with the standard settings:
Key/PTT Control "PTT + Key Line"
Line active - PTT "High" - Key "High"
Lines "Key=DTR PTT=RTS" (1st list row)
But this kit does not have a CAT interface !!!
You wrote that frequency and mode of the transceiver are shown in UcxLog.
How can this work without CAT interface?
Do you use a second interface?

Re: cw send
Hi Ben
I cannot find your version 6.65 beta on your web site.
The Icom is directly connected to the computer via a serial port from the back of the transceiver to the serial port on my computer. UCXLOG works very well as my logging program. I was hoping to use UCXLOG in this weekend's CQWW contest and I thought that thsi Data kit would work. It does work with N1MM but I prefer UCXLOG.
It looks like I might have to buy MicrokeyerII.
Thank you for all your help much appreciated.

Re: cw send
Ok, your kit data interface uses another COM port address than your ICOM connection.
Choose the right port number (!!!) of your kit for Key/PTT control and the settings
Key/PTT Control "PTT + Key Line"
Line active - PTT "High" - Key "High"
You do not need the Beta 4, the version 6.64 will work !!!

Re: cw send
Hi ben
I have installed your 6.65 beta 4 and my interface works very well but the CPU runs at 100% all the time making the system slow. With N1MM the CPU runs at 8%.
My computer is a pentium 4 running at 2.4G with 2 GB Ram.
Only minimum Ram is being used.

Re: cw send
I'm so happy that your interface works now, what was the reason of the malfunction?
The 6.65 Beta 4 does not need more CPU load than the 6.64.
< 7% on my PC.
