Hi Ben,
and the Team,
I have got AlfaSpid antenna controller. Moreover, I can make it pretend some other controllers too:
Orion
Hygain (protocol DCU1)
Yaesu (protocol GS232)
(RS232: 1200N1, 8bits)
data rate bound 1200, 1 STOP bit, no even parity bit)
Unfortunately,
the RS232 communication can be set as per the above specification only.
Will You please have a look at it,
how the controller could be incorporated in UCXLog
please ?
Yours,
Alec/SP2EWQ

Possibly not a new topic ...

Re: AlfaSpid antenna controller
Ben,
sorry,
as I do not know the procedure on this forum,
could You respond whether I should be happy that
You are going to do something about it,
or the shifting means something completely opposite,
please?
My best 73,

Re: AlfaSpid antenna controller
Alec,
I shifted your topic because it was wrong placed in "News" (not in "Interfaces").
I think we have now 3 users interested in SPID rotor control.
I tend towards the Yaesu protocol but can't test it.
Because it needs an additional COM port, it's not really simple to realize.
So it will take some time...

Re: AlfaSpid antenna controller
Ben,
that is absolutely great news.
I am more than willing to betatest anything You want to.
BTW,
if You decided on SPID-protocol, the software would be
required to add 360 degs up to the actual bearing.
I mean, if the antenna was to be turned to 50 degs,
UCXLog should send 410-degs command to the controller.
Anyway,
I am looking forward to testing the new feature
whichever protocol You will have chosen.
